Winter Olympics 2018 has almost arrived! The tournament is being held at Pyeongchang, South Korea. What is interesting to note in this year’s Winter Olympics is that the two countries that are on a permanent nuclear stand-off, South Korea and North Korea, for the first time, will be represented as one nation. It is the XXIII Winter Olympic and the games will start on February 25. Reliance Jio’s live television app Jio TV will live stream the games across India as it is the official digital broadcasting partner for Winter Olympics in India. Notably, this year, the organisers will give Samsung smartphones and Nike kits to all the participants except North Korea. The reason behind this step is that tough international sanctions comprising of travel restrictions and a ban on the sale of luxury goods and sports gear on North Korea have complicated the organisers’ efforts to provide South Korean neighbours with the same perks as other Olympians.
