Despite having had a very tough time in England, Henrikh Mkhitaryan might have enough in him to make Arsenal the real winner in this year. The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a long-time admirer of the former Borussia Dortmund star, and not just because of his supreme technical ability on the pitch.
In what a lot of people believe should have been a move made a lot earlier, Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined Arsenal from Manchester United on Monday. But, this transfer was never about him. It was all about the great Arsenal hope, Alexis Sanchez who decided that he had had enough at the club and joined Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils. Undoubtedly, Sanchez will form a deadly combination up front with Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and might serve as the perfect ingredient United need to compete with rivals Manchester City who have an extraordinary forward line with names like Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane.
However, despite having had a very tough time in England, Henrikh Mkhitaryan might have enough in him to make Arsenal the real winner in this year. The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a long-time admirer of the former Borussia Dortmund star, and not just because of his supreme technical ability on the pitch which saw him score 23 goals and record 32 assists in his final season at the Westfalenstadion.

Mkhitaryan is one of the smartest players out there, both on and off the field. This is one attribute Arsene Wenger is a huge fan of. The 29-year-old has got a diploma from the Institute of Physical Culture in Armenia and studied economics at the St Petersburg Institute. He can speak English, German, French, Russian, Armenian, Portuguese and Italian which should be enough to make life easy at the Emirates Stadium.
Per Mertesacker is probably the smartest player in the club right now. He is admired so much by the Arsenal boss that he offered him head of academy role which the German will take up this summer. Arsenal might have lost a star in Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United but in return, they have got a true gem in Mkhitaryan who, with his creativity and intelligence, might create enough chances for the likes of Giroud and Lacazatte to lift Arsenal spirits.
Able to play in the Europa League for Arsenal and set to form a familiar partnership with his former Dortmund team-mate Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the coming days, Mkhitaryan might be up for some really good days.

When Wenger was asked about Alexis Sanchez transfer, he said, “There is always life. Arsenal Football Club is 130 years old and many big players have left. Will it go a bit less good? We will see. But there is always life afterwards.”
For all we know, life might just have been breathed back into Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s almost dead career.
