The Indian Super League (ISL) club Kerala Blasters FC (KBFC) signed French striker Kevin Yoke, who began his career with the renowned Paris Saint-Germain. The club made the announcement public on January 26 (Monday).
The 29-year-old has come in as a free agent after his contract came to an end with Greek Super League 2 club PAE Chania. The double-footed striker will join the Kerala club in their pursuit of a maiden ISL title.
Who is Kevin Yoke?
Yoke started his career at the famed PSG, where he played for the club’s B team in the 2018-19 season, making the starting XI seven times and coming on as a substitute on two occasions. The six-footer got more chances in the next season, 2019-20, starting for the side on 12 occasions and filling in as a substitute once. He made two assists and scored three goals as well.
Not getting the desired success and being unable to make it to the senior PSG side, Yoke joined Le Mans FC for the 2020-21 season. He shifted his base to Greece at the start of the 2021-22 season and started turning out for Apollon Larissa F.C. in the second division of the Greek Super League. From there, he traveled to Eolikos Mytilinis, another Greek side in the same division.
Yoke missed the entire 2022-23 season due to injury. He then transferred to APO Levadiakos and played in the first division of the league during the 2024-25 season. He also remained on loan to Panachaiki GE and his last club, PAE Chania.
What did KBFC say about the Yoke signing?
Abhik Chatterjee, CEO of KBFC, said in a statement about the Yoke signing, as quoted by Sportstar: “Kevin is a player with qualities that suit the way we want to play. His ability to take on defenders, his movement in wide areas, and his experience at the professional level will add strength to our attacking unit.”
KBFC, three times finalsists of the ISL, are one of the most followed clubs in Indian football, with their fan club Manjappada creating an electrifying show wherever the club plays.
Is the ISL 2025-26 schedule out?
While the addition of Yoke provides a massive boost to the squad, the Blasters are still waiting for the full roadmap of the upcoming campaign. Unfortunately, the shortened ISL 2025-26 season, administered by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the governing body of the sport in the country, does not have a schedule so far. The only known information is the start date, which will be February 14. No information on broadcast and ticketing is currently available.
