Today is the 88th birthday of legendary singer Kishore Kumar and Sehwag took to the micro-blogging site to reveal that Kishore da was actually his hidden batting partner.

Virender Sehwag was known for his destructive batting. On Friday morning Sehwag took to Twitter to wish his hidden batting partner. The former Indian opener had the ability to demolish any bowling attack on his day but only a few people know that Sehwag is a bathroom singer too or to put it in other words, an on-field singer. Yes, the 38-year-old from Delhi has admitted on many occasions that he used to sing songs while batting and was caught doing it during an All Stars match a couple of years ago where he was singing with the earpiece on.

Actually, today is the 88th birthday of legendary singer Kishore Kumar and Sehwag took to the micro-blogging site to reveal that Kishore da was actually his hidden batting partner. “On his birth anniversary, remembering my hidden batting partner #KishoreKumar Chala jaata hoon, Kisi ki dhun me, Dhadakte dil ke taraane liye,” he wrote. Shewag’s connection with Kishore Kumar goes long back when he became the second batsmen to score an ODI double century.

In this match against West Indies, Virender Sehwag had scored 219 runs against the Caribbean side in Indore. During this knock, he broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most runs in an innings. Sehwag who was also leading the Indian side that day had faced 149 balls smashing 25 fours and 7 sixes. A few days later, Sehwag revealed in an interview that to counter stress, he was singing Kishore Kumar’s songs, according to a report by CNN-News 18.

Virender Sehwag represented India in 104 Tests where he scored 8586 runs at an average of 49.34 including 23 centuries and 32 fifties. Apart from this, Sehwag also played 251 ODIs scoring 8273 runs at an average of 35.05. Since retiring, Shewag has made a name for himself through his witty tweets and commentary.
