The former Indian opener Virender Sehwag is following his ‘see ball, hit ball’ strategy even after retiring from cricket. The destructive opener who has made a name for himself through his witty tweets, was once again in the news a few days back when he reportedly sent a 2-line application for the job of team India coach. “Mentor and a coach of Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League and has played with all these (Indian) boys before,” read Sehwag’s application for the top job in Indian cricket. The move left BCCI stunned. “Sehwag being Sehwag has sent his application in two lines. There was no CV attached to it. We had to ask him to send his CV too along with his application. After all, it will be the first time he is set to appear for the interview,” a BCCI source, was quoted as saying by the Indian Express. However, Twitter, the funny place it is, reacted a bit differently to the incident. While some people were awe of the move, others found it very funny. Here are top Twitter reactions:

Apart from Sehwag and current coach Anil Kumble, former Australian fast bowler and Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody, former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh, Englishman Richard Pybus, and domestic veteran Lalchand Rajput have also applied for the job. Anil Kumble’s contract is set to end after the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy and he will have to appear in front of CAC which includes Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly to once again go through the interview process, just as Ravi Shastri had done in 2016.
