MS Dhoni’s back to back match winning (saving) performances have brought a lot of criticism for Chief selector MSK Prasad after his recent comments about the former Indian captain. Speaking after India’s ODI squad for the ongoing Sri Lankan series was picked, Prasad had commented that the selection committee would have to look at other alternatives if Dhoni failed to deliver. He said,”You never know. We don’t say it is an automatic thing (selection) but we will see. We are all stakeholders. We all want the Indian team to do well. If he is delivering, why not? If he is not, we will have to look at alternatives.” Dhoni fans were just looking an opportunity to slam Prasad and after the wicketkeeper-batsman played two crucial knocks against Sri Lanka which helped India seal the five match ODI series, the opportunity was too good to miss. Twitterati trolled Prasad mercilessly! One of the users had posted a picture of ‘Joey from Friends’ with a shocked reaction and captioned it as,”MSK Prasad’s reaction after seeing @msdhoni play in the series.”Another user took to the microblogging site and said,”Dhoni needs to deliver or we have to look for alternatives” – MSK Prasad, MS Dhoni be like: Okay. As you say!”

Here are the reaction of MS Dhoni fans on MSK Prasad’s comment:

The Indian cricket team is currently experimenting with the squad to find the right combination for the 2019 World Cup. As per NDTV Sports report, Prasad said the core of the Indian team for the 2019 World Cup will be identified in the next four to five months through a rotation policy. He said,”We have identified some set of players who will be considered for the next 4-5 months and we will rotate them. After those 4-5 months we will come to a picture that these are certain players who will go on to play the 2019 World Cup.”
