By doubling down on Sharma, Surya effectively shut the door on rumours of Sanju Samson being drafted in for the Sunday clash. The message is clear, India will stick to the process that saw them dominate Group A.
For South Africa, this means they will still have to plan for the Abhishek Storm. While the Proteas’ pace battery of Rabada and Nortje will look to exploit his recent tentativeness, they will be facing a batter who has the full, public backing of his captain.
