Even as rain halted play during the Kolkata Knight Riders-Punjab Kings match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday (April 6), one particular moment saw the roar of the crowd come back. It was right when KKR co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was spotted in the stands, with his visuals being shown on the giant screen. It sent the fans into a frenzy despite the damp weather.

Dressed in a white t-shirt and donning a KKR cap, SRK was seen waving to the packed Kolkata crowd as the heavens opened. Meanwhile, KKR are struggling at 25/2 in 3.4 overs and desperately seeking their first win of the IPL 2026 season as players await the resumption of play.

No Sunil Narine, Varun Chakarvarathy for KKR

With KKR missing the Spin Twins- Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy and losing big-money signing Cameron Green for just 4 runs earlier tonight, KKR will have a tough ask from here especially as they opted to bat first.

“Two changes, forced changes. Varun Chakaravarthy unfortunately got injured taking a catch in the last game and Sunil Narine is sick. Powell and Saini are in,” captain Ajinkya Rahane said at the toss.

While Rahane chose to bowl first, PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer said he was looking to bat first anyways.

“I was supposed to bowl as well. So kind of happy with the decision he took,” he said at the toss.

Suhana join the cheers

SRK is accompanied by daughter Suhana Khan. The family was seen sharing a light moment and even enjoying some dry fruits while waiting for the groundstaff to work their magic.
