Fast bowler S Sreesanth is set to return to cricket after a gap of nearly four years. The cricketer who got involved in a match-fixing scandal, will play for Ernakulam Cricket Club in a first division two-day game starting from February 19. This means that the discarded fast bowler has chosen to ignore orders from the cricket board.

After the cricket board refused to issue No Objection Certificate, which would have allowed him to play club cricket in scotland, Sreesanth had decided to come out and express his views in public. The cricketer’s international career was jeopardised in 2013, after he was charged for spot-fixing during the IPL 6.

Even as on July 25, 2015, a Delhi court had quashed all charges against him and declared Sreesanth free of all charges, the BCCI still did not lift the life ban imposed on him by them after the spot-fixing charges. Sreesanth, it seems, can now get back to playing cricket as he also has his state association’s support. There were reports that the Kerala Cricket Association had sent a letter to BCCI asking it to lift the ban.
