Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea produced a resilient performance on Sunday as they came back from a set down to beat third seeds Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares to clinch the Mercedes Cup doubles title in Stuttgart.

Bopanna and Mergea battled past the Austrian-Brazilian pair 5-7, 6-2, 10-7 to bag their second ATP World Tour title as a pair in an enthralling contest that lasted one hour and 11 minutes.

The Indo-Romanian pair had previously emerged as the champions at the Mutua Madrid Open last month.
