Narsingh Yadav who was all set to represent India in the 74 kg Wrestling category faced a huge steback on the charges of being found doping positive. While India’s National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) gave Singh a clean chit,Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) has banned him for four years.

While Narsingh and his family have all this while been claiming that all this is a conspiracy, CAS held him guilty, further stating that Narsingh took the drug in form of a tablet. The Rio 2016 Olympics are wrapped up in as much style and grandeour as they kicked off with. For India, who had a rather dismal fortnight, the Indian girls trio- Wrestler Sakshi Malik, Gymnast Dipa Karmakar and Badminton silver medalist P V Sindhu made the day a little brighter with their performances. They have returned and the nation is making sure the stars are recieved in no less starry manner than they deserve.

But pointing out to the lack of medal tally in India’s lap, Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Chief BB Sharan Singh said that they were expecting 3-4 medals alone in wrestling but the ban on Men’s freestyle 74 kg Wrestler Narsingh Yadav and then injury to Women’s Freestyle 48kg category Vinesh Phogat was a big blow.

WFI President has now echoed Narsingh’s claims and requested a CBI enquiry into the matter. He said, ‘This was a conspiracy. We reiterate our demand for a CBI enquiry.’
