PV Ramana, father of PV Sindhu, has said that he is very happy with the way his daughter performed at Olympic games. Ramana, along with Sindhu’s mother, said that their daughter is only 21-year-old and she has many more Olympics to come. “This was the Olympic games for Sindhu, she is just 21-year-old. She will do better in upcoming years. We are very happy with her performance”, said PV Ramana. He also said that his daughter will continue to work hard under coach Pullela Gopichand in upcoming years. “She will continue to work hard under her coach Pullela Gopichand in upcoming years.”
PV Sindhu on Friday made history by becoming the first female athlete from India to bag a silver medal at Olympics. Prior to her, neither any man nor any woman player was able to get India a silver medal in Badminton.
Earlier on Thursday, Ramana had said that her daughter has made the nation proud. “Everybody is proud of Sindhu, she has made the nation proud”, said Ramana. Acknowledging the efforts of coach Pullela Gopichand, he said that the latter worked very hard with Sindhu. “Both she and Gopichand are working very hard, if she plays like this then she will surely win tomorrow”, he had said after Sindhu won her semi-final match against Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara 21-19, 21-10.
