PV Sindhu’s coach Pullela Gopichand, who is being equally credited for former’s performance at Rio Olympics 2016, has thanked fans for all their love and support. Speaking to media after the match, Gopichand said that he wants Sindhu to be content and fight for upcoming games. “I told Sindhu not to be unhappy with the defeat in final, but to think that she has won a silver medal”, said Gopichand while speaking to media after the match.
The Indian badminton coach, who made special efforts for Sindhu’s success, also revealed some interesting facts about training. Gopichand revealed that Sindhu was not allowed to use a smartphone for the last three months. He also said that the badminton star was denied her favorite food items like ice cream and yogult due to strict dieting schedules.
“Firstly I will return Sindhu her smartphone, which she is not allowed to use for the past three months. and yes now she can eat Ice-cream and Yagult”, said Gopichand. PV Sindhu on Friday made history by becoming the first female athlete from India to bag a silver medal at Olympics. Prior to her, neither any man nor any woman player was able to get India a silver medal in Badminton.
