French gymnast breaks leg during Rio Olympic vault Johannesburg

French gymnast Samir Ait Said landed awkwardly during the Men's Vault and broke his leg on impact at the Rio Olympics on Saturday. Said’s left leg folded beneath him as he landed badly during the men's qualification event.

French gymnast Samir Ait Said landed awkwardly during the Men’s Vault and broke his leg on impact at the Rio Olympics on Saturday. Said’s left leg folded beneath him as he landed badly during the men’s qualification event.

The 26-year-old was trying to fly over the vault and complete two back-flips in a pike. As reported by Sport24, the French gymnast went to ground clutching his leg after a terrible landing. Said, who was in a large amount of pain following the untoward incident, was attended by the medical staff and was taken off on a stretcher.
