At 36, Mahendra Singh Dhoni remains the youngest player in the Indian cricket team (at least his agility and athleticism proves so)! Throughout his career Dhoni has set really high standards of fitness for the other players, often converting ones into twos. Even towards the dusk of his career, the former Indian skipper remains to be of the fittest members of the side and a recent video posted by BCCI on its Twitter handle re-establishes the fact. This video was recorded ahead of the second ODI between India and Sri Lanka of the ongoing three-match series.
The wicketkeeper-batsman had a 100-metre dash with all-rounder Hardik Pandya at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium in Mohali. The race was a part of team India’s warm-up session and it didn’t come as a surprise that it was MSD who emerged victoriously. Pandya, apparently, did give him a tough contest but Dhoni had enough in him to steam past the young all-rounder. That perhaps shows us how fit Dhoni is. Here is the video of a 100-metre race between MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya:

MS Dhoni has been under the scanner recently due to his below par performances. Some former Indian cricketers including Dhoni’s ex-teammate VVS Laxman have questioned his place in the side. However, World Cup winning captain showed that he still has a lot to offer to team India.
In the first ODI of the series, when team India was struggling, Dhoni stepped and played a vital knock of 65 runs. He took India to a fighting total of 112 runs. While rest of the Indian batsmen floundered, Dhoni looked comfortable and even counterattacked the Sri Lankan seamers. However, India went on to lose the match.
