It is a rare opportunity to see two Brazilian greats together in one place. It so came to pass that this happened and Londoners were the beneficiaries. Former Brazilian striker Ronaldo shared the stage with current Brazil forward Neymar at a Nike event on Wednesday. During the event Ronaldo also discussed the Paris Saint-Germain striker’s potential move to Real Madrid. Ronaldo is a former Galactico and he knows what it takes to enter Santiago Bernabeu donning the white jersey. Interestingly, if Neywmar leaves PSG and moves to Real Madrid then both the Brazilian greats could have a same story line of their playing careers. However, when and if Neymar does come to Real Madrid, what will happen to Cristiano Ronaldo and teh position that he plays in? That big question was left unanswered.
Ronaldo left Barcelona and went to Inter Milan and from there he came to Real Madrid. “Neymar is a superb player, maybe he will be the best in the world in a few years, and Real Madrid need the best,” he said at the unveiling of Nike’s new Mercurial 360 boots, as per Marca report.
The comparisons between the two men and their career paths have been made for a long time. Despite the speculation, Ronaldo played down how close a potential Madrid move was for Neymar. The two-time World Cup winner believes Madrid, who are fourth in LaLiga and 19 points behind Barcelona, feels his former side could perhaps win a third straight Champions League despite their struggles this campaign.
Ronaldo also talked about the improtance of Champions League and how it changes the scenario of the transfer market. He said the Champions League is a competion that Madrid do well in and it is still to be seen how the club performs in near future.
The first leg of Champions League is around the corner and Real Madrid will face PSG in the round of 16. The match will be on February 15 in Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid fans will really get a chance to see what Neymar may well bring to the club
