India vs South Africa LIVE Cricket Score 1st T20I: There is a marked difference in the India team from the time they started their tour of South Africa and now when they are about to end it. They wear the look of champions. There is also a change in the tone and tenor of skipper Virat Kohli when he takes on the media after the One-Day Internationals (ODI) series. The team played aggressive cricket and handed South Africa a 5-1 mauling in the ODIs. No visiting team has ever given the Proteas such a hiding in their own backyard, raising the question whether India could have possibly won the Test series if they had planned better. You can’t fault Kohli or his teammates if they today think the result of the Test series could as well have been 2-1 in their favour looking at some of the sessions they dominated in the first two Tests. They had their moments, but they actually did not inspire the confidence of winning the two matches the way they approached the task. Suresh Raina will be making a comeback after over a year while South Africa decided to rest their big names which are Hashim Amla, Aiden Markram and Imran Tahir. This means the team would be heavily dependent on AB de Villiers. The bowling department of the sides have been very strong and have posed threat to opposing sides time and again during the Test and ODI series.
Here are India vs South Africa 1st T20I LIVE Cricket Score and Updates:
9:24 PM: India wins the match against South Africa by 28 runs.
8:37 PM: At the halfway stage the Proteas are 79/3 needing 125 runs from 60 balls to win. Reeza Hendricks is on 31 while Behardien is on 18.
8:34 PM: Nine overs down and the Proteas are 68/3 needing 136 off 66 balls to win.
6:43 PM: They keep talking about Kohli’s form, but look at his numbers. Yes, he is averaging 91 since 2016 in ODIs. But aside from 2015, he has averaged over 47+ every year in ODIs since 2009, and 50+ in 7 years.
6:33 PM: 78 for India in the Powerplay, that is some start.
6:27 PM: Raina and Dhoni played in the first T20I that India played in 2006 at this same ground! Still here after 12 years!
6:21 PM: Dala to Raina, OUT, 147 kph, Dala takes his second. Raina’s belligerent innings ends. A full delivery, around middle and leg, Raina clears his front leg, looking to hoick away into the leg side, but the ball takes the leading edge and lobs back to the bowler. An easy catch, Dala is pumped.
6:15 PM: Dala to Sharma, OUT, short on middle and leg, Rohit backs away, looking to cut the ball over third man. The ball goes through to the keeper, Klaasen goes up in appeal. And he is so confident that they call for the review. Big noise as bat passes ball, there is a spike on Snicko, so South Africa have their first. Junior Dala has his first international wicket!
6:05 PM: Disappointed with raina selection, he is not getting younger, Rahul could have been better option and he is younger also.
5:45 PM: Can’t wrap my head around Rahul’s omission. He’s shown that he can bat at 4 in t20s. He’s far too good a prospect to be wasted warming the bench.
5:43 PM: PITCH Report: It looks like a good surface, ball will nicely come onto the bat. The skipper’s decision at the toss will entirely depends on the team’s strategy. There won’t be no lateral movement off the deck and it is a belter of a track to bat on,” reckons Shaun Pollock.
5:39 PM: Jaydev Unadkat, Suresh Raina, Manish Pandey included in the team.
4:12 PM: Suresh Raina is making his comeback.
