Cricketer Irfan Pathan has been trolled again for celebrating Raksha Bandhan and wearing a rakhi on his wrist while clicking a photo. This incident comes days after he was trolled for sharing a picture of his wife, who was hiding her face but her nail paint was visible. On the auspicious occasion of Rakhi on August 8, Pathan took to social media and shared a picture of himself with the caption ‘Happy Rakhi everyone #rakshabandhan’. He shared the photo on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and received both positive and negative reactions.
Earlier in the month of July, Irfan Pathan shared a picture of his wife on Instagram with the caption ‘This girl is trouble ???? #love #wifey’. Within a few hours of the post being shared, it attracted criticism from a number of trolls. Some called it was “un-Islamic” to post such a picture, others lashed out at the cricketer for not being a “true Muslim.” Some raised objections at his wife’s nail paint and said “Allah won’t accept your namaz.” Cricketer Irfan Pathan is married to a model from Jeddah, Safa Baig. The picture in which Baig is covering her face, drew flak from people on Facebook. Pathan was ridiculed for “letting her show her arms and part of the face.” The comments ranged from advising him to remove the picture to slamming him for not being “a good Muslim.”
