Welcome back for RR's batting reply. The two umpires and players have made their way out to the middle. As expected, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been subbed in by the Royals, replacing Sandeep Sharma. Sakib Hussain comes in as SRH's impact sub. Travis Head makes way for the right-arm quick. Sooryavanshi walks out to open alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. … THE RUN CHASE …

Looking ahead – It is all set up for an interesting chase, considering that this is not the usual Hyderabad surface and is slightly on the slower side. As Heinrich Klaasen pointed out, pace-off was tough to hit, and that feedback will need to translate into execution for the SRH bowlers if they are to defend this total. Back in a bit for the chase.

A quick word with the Orange Cap holder – Heinrich Klaasen rates his innings around seven out of ten, saying the intensity was a lot better. He does admit that SRH lost momentum after Ishan Kishan's dismissal, but feels good about the way he (Ishan) was batting before that. On the conditions, he describes it as a nice surface to bat on, though he admits that the wide yorkers were difficult to deal with. Anything straight, he feels, gave him a chance to find the boundary, but the moment bowlers went wider, it became considerably harder. On the six that just cleared long off, Klaasen laughs it off, saying he is happy to have quality bats and had brought out the heavier one, but gives full credit to the bowler, admitting he was completely frustrated by the slower balls hurled at him.

Death overs swing SRH's way – Both fell heading into the death overs, and one wondered whether this would be another SRH batting innings without the final flourish, but the likes of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora came through for the home side. As for RR, while Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger played their part, it was a rough night for Sandeep Sharma and Tushar Deshpande, with their combined figures reading 8-0-107-2. That raises the question of whether Parag needed to bowl them out, and curiously, we did not see Ravindra Jadeja at all with the ball.

Ishan led the way for SRH – After being asked to bat first, Abhishek Sharma fell off the very first ball, but Ishan Kishan got himself going with a few boundaries. RR gave a good account of themselves in the opening exchanges to keep the scoring in check and were able to pick up Travis Head along the way. Kishan then got together with Heinrich Klaasen, and the duo laid a platform through the middle phase. The SRH captain did the bulk of the scoring in the 88-run stand while after taking his time early on, Klaasen also got going.

SRH post 216 on the board – The Sunrisers finish with a flourish. 62 runs came off the last 5 overs, which has helped them reach 216. It was a mixed bag at the death for the Royals, and a challenging task with the bat awaits them.

Head gets on his toes and looks to nudge it away on the leg side. He gets into a bit of a tangle. The ball catches the inside edge and goes low towards the keeper. Dhruv Jurel dives low to his right and sticks out his right glove but the ball clips the fingertips before going behind into the fence.

That was some rhythmic start from Archer. There is good bounce off the surface and he didn't offer any room for the batters. Nandre Burger will share the attack from the opposite end.

What an anticlimactic start for SRH. Archer wins the battle against Abhishek in the very first ball. The captain Ishan Kishan is in at number 3. FYI, he smashed a hundred against this very opposition in the previous season.

Jofra Archer to Abhishek Sharma, OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! What a start for the Royals. A wicket off the very first ball. The crowd goes silent as Abhishek Sharma falls for a golden duck. Archer steams in from over the wicket and bashes the hard length, a bit of away movement. Abhishek dances down the track and flays at it. The ball catches the toe end of the blade and it is skied to deep third, where Ravi Bishnoi settles under the skier and takes the catch a few metres in off the ropes. Bishnoi turns around and he has his arms aloft while looking towards the crowd behind him. And as per Raunak Kapoor on air, this is Abhishek's first golden duck in the IPL.

Keen to make the first use of the fresh surface – The captain of the Rajasthan Royals, Riyan Parag says it's a fresh wicket, so he reckons it might be a bit sticky in nature as well. About the changes, he informs that Tushar Deshpande is back in the side, replacing Brijesh Sharma. Also adds that Hetmyer gets a rest and Lhuan-dre Pretorius makes his debut. Reflects on his journey to the captaincy, saying he learned a great deal playing under Sanju Samson for a long time. He also credits Kumar Sangakkara, RR's head coach, for playing a key role in his development, grooming him over time and involving him in strategic discussions. Parag adds that stepping into the leadership role has meant taking ownership and making some tough calls, but says he is happy to be in this position.

PITCH REPORT – Daren Ganga describes it as a very good batting track, pointing to last season's encounter between the Rajasthan Royals and the Sunrisers Hyderabad, where over 500 runs were scored, as an evidence of what the ground is capable of producing. Ganga informs that the match is being played on pitch number three, with a straight boundary of 77 metres.
