The Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday announced the full list of players who will take part in the 2026 player auction. A total of 350 cricketers will be available for auction when the bidding starts in Abu Dhabi on December 16.
The BCCI removed 1,005 names from the initial list. One of the most surprising additions is South African player Quinton de Kock. He wasn’t on the first list, but his name was later included in the third group of wicketkeeper-batters after a franchise recommended him. In all, 35 new players who were not part of the original registrations, but have been included in the final shortlist.

A Cricbuzz report claims that De Kock was added to the final list after a franchise specifically asked for his name to be included. The wicketkeeper-batter, who recently returned from international retirement, had scored a century against India in the last ODI in Vizag, and that standout performance may have influenced his decision.
De Kock has fixed his base price at Rs 1 crore, which is half of what he had set in the previous mega auction, where the Knight Riders bought him for his Rs 2 crore base price.
