As fans get set for the IPL 2017 play-offs, the latest data by Twitter shows that they have supported their teams throughout the league round – win or lose. According to the data, table-toppers Mumbai Indians were the most talked about team while among players, former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the fan favourite. Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians have been outstanding throughout the tournament, winning 10 out of their 14 games. Mumbai will face Rising Pune Supergiant in the first qualifier on Tuesday evening at Wankhede Stadium.

Even though Dhoni hasn’t been in best of the form in this year’s tournament, his support and popularity haven’t decreased. Dhoni received the most love throughout the group stage of the tournament on Twitter as #MSDhoni ruled the Twitter IPL player emoji leaderboard. As far as the matches are considered, Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore ruled the social media platform.

He is followed by two Supergiant players: Jaydev Unadkat (21) and Imran Tahir (18).
