Wikipedia has always been a great source of information for all of us but the fact that anyone can go and edit the Wikipedia pages is very dangerous and has created a lot of trouble in the past. In the latest episode, the Indian cricket team were declared as the winners of the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup 2017, two days before the final. A day after the women’s team defeated Australia thanks to a sizzling century by Harmanpreet Kaur, someone went to Wikipedia and edited the “Women’s World Cup” article page. Now, it shows India as winners with England finishing runners up. However, the editors chose not to mention the margin of the win. The final is scheduled to take place on Sunday afternoon. England beat South Africa in the first semi-final and India beat Australia in the second semi-final to set up a clash at the Lord’s.
The Indian captain Mithali Raj has already issued a warning to her counterpart by saying that it won’t be easy to defeat India in the World Cup final. “As a team we are all very excited to be part of the final. We knew that this tournament wasn’t going to be easy but the way the girls have turned up at every situation when the team needed, whether it was the batters or bowlers,” Raj told media ahead of the clash. “It definitely isn’t going to be easy for England. But it will come down to how we perform on that day. We really have to work on our planning and strategy because England have also peaked after being defeated by us in the first game. They have performed well in the run up to the final, so playing a host in their own country is going to be a challenge. But saying that this unit is up for it,” she said.

The Indian women’s team has been in excellent form in this tournament winning 6 out of its 8 matches so far. Raj was also full of praises for vice-captain Harmanpreet who smashed 171 runs in the semifinal. “Harman’s innings was exceptional. Bowlers have done really well. Jhulan have comeback into her rhythm and Shikha also bowled well and spinners have also done a good job. This unit looks compact now,” she said.
