Who could have thought that Ravichandran Ashwin alone will be the nightmare for the Kiwis. Yes, the spell produced by Ashwin came as cracking down the batting line up of New Zealand as he took 6 wickets for 81 runs thereby completing his 20th five wicket haul in test cricket.
What seemed to be a good start provided by Martin Guptill and Tom Latham in the opening slot to counter the mammoth Indian score of 557 came crumbling down as before the spell of Ravichandran Ashwin.
New Zealand’s top order already was in slump prior to lunch when Ashwin found a way through Latham’s defence.

Latham who earlier scored 74 in the match at Kolkata had already expectations building upon him. His success was partially down because of the method he had worked out to reduce the likelihood of lbw against spinners by taking his bat in front of his pad.
With this score and lead India is definitely in the driver’s seat and it looks like a 3-0 win is just a matter of time.
