India vs Ireland 1st T20: Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma gave a solid start to team India in their first T20I against Ireland at The Village, Dublin. In the first of the two T20Is, Ireland won the toss and opted to bowl first. After winning the toss, Wilson said “India chase well but we have to look at our own game. We’ve had four games and a game against Sussex, the prep has been good. Hopefully, we can cause an upset.” Ireland chose to rest Porterfield and McBrine.
As for Kohli, “We would have bowled first as well. But on the outside, the sun is out and the wicket will play well. Not a bad thing. We practised in London, and the guys have played IPL cricket as well. If it was Test cricket, time could have been a problem. The weather is something we’ve got to get used to. I was 70% a month ago and feeling good now.” India had left out KL Rahul, Dinesh Karthik Umesh Yadav, Sid Kaul and Washington Sundar.
The series is supposed to provide Indian team with the preparation needed for their two-month-long tour of England where they will play three T20Is, three ODIs and five Tests. The match will also mark the return of India’s limited-overs specialists in blue colours.

Ireland, on the other hand, have been playing against top nations mostly in world events. Their big moment arrived earlier this year when they made their Test debut against Pakistan. Ireland is known for pulling off upsets and are hosting India only for the second time in their international cricketing history – and the first time in a T20I series. Led by Gary Wilson, the Irish team will leave no stone unturned to make life tough for India.
Kuldeep Yadav had a dream start at Dublin when he took four wickets to wrap up Ireland’s chase. He was supported by Yuzvendra Chahal who bagged two wickets.
Whew. A whirlwind inning and a massive score. India’s openers made full use of the generous batting conditions. That little collapse in the last over came 19 overs too late for Ireland, who dropped three catches after putting the visitors in. You don’t do that against this batting line-up. Duly punished for that and some loose bowling early on. Will their batsmen enjoy this pitch as much as India’s did?
I think the team management is totally unfair on DK. He is a 100% team man, played as a keeper, as a middle-order batsman, also as an opener whenever India needed one. Recently, he has made so many useful contributions with the bat, and in fact, won a tournament with one of the most amazing innings for years to come. Still, he is not given a good run in the team. If he was born in any other country, I am sure he would have played at least 50 tests and 150 ODIs so far.

“Heads” is the calls from Kohli. Tails it is. Ireland win the toss and choose to bowl in India’s 100th T20I.
Watch out for IRELAND CAPTAIN…HE CAN BE LETHAL…ALSO SIMI SINGH is someone who will be game changer
It’s a well-rolled, flat deck. There’s some grass on the surface too, according to the pitch report. Niall O’Brien says it’s a good batting track and the outfield will be electric. The short boundaries will favour the batsmen as well.
Who would you want in the middle-order? Karthik or Pandey? If you go for experience, then probably Karthik is best choice, if you are looking at the future, Pandey should be given a long run at No 4/5.
The Indian team have arrived at Dublin.
Virat Kohli will be making a return to cricket after sustaining a neck injury.

William Porterfield was benched for the two T20s against Scotland but he is expected to make a return for the series. It could mean a bad news for James Shannon who could be rested. Among the bowlers, Ireland may opt for Andy McBrine in the place of Stuart Thompson, but that decision may hinge on overhead conditions on match day.
Ever since Suresh Raina has made his return to the Indian side in February 2018, he has scored at an average of just 21.33. With the battle for the No.4 spot in the team heating up, the CSK batsman will need to step up his game in order to seal his place for the upcoming world cup. His main competition is KL Rahul, who was a run-machine in the IPL.
Simi Singh, the Ireland allrounder is the ace card for the Leprechauns. Starting his career as a bowler, Simi has worked his way up the Irish batting order and he averages 32 with a strike-rate of 150 in T20I.
