India vs England Test: In a strange turn of events that led to an unique, even historic, happening on the Wankhede Ground during the fourth Test match that put the selectors as well as skipper of Indian test squad Virat Kohli under teh scanner. Let us reiterate here that this has never, ever happened to Team India and it has put an entire city, if not the entire state, under cloud. And what is that thing that is so troubling for so many cricket fans? Well, for the first time in history (first time since India’s debut Test), a Mumbaikar is not in India’s playing XI. Now that’s kind of strange. Isn’t it? Who is to blame? From fate to the skipper, to the BCCI and selectors. Well, as far as the die-hard fans are concerned, the buck stops with the captain.
This happened as ace Mumbai batsman Ajinkya Rahane has been kept out of the series after suffering a finger injury. And although, Mumbai pacer Shardul Thakur almost sneaked into teh playing XI, but that was not to be. He was later called in as a substitute for Mohammad Shami, but did not get a chance to play the match. Mumbai has given the cricketing landscape veterans like Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri and others.

As far as stats is concerned, England have won the last two Tests they played against India at this ground. They defeated the hosts by a massive 10 wickets in 2012 and triumphed over Rahul Dravid-led India back in 2006. Both India and England are playing the fourth test match Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The hosts have maintained an unassailable lead of 4-0 in the five-match series and are hopefully looking forward to clinch a clean sweep.
However, in the ongoing Test, India is set to get the better of England even though the visitors have scored 400 batting first. In reply, India have scored 146 for the loss of 1 wicket. Currently, M. Vijay is playing at 70 runs and C. Pujara at 47. KL Rahul was clean bowled after scoring 24 runs.
