India vs Bangladesh ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni have always shared a good bond ever since the former made his international debut. Kohli, after taking over the captaincy of the Indian cricket team, he has been seen taking advice from Dhoni but on Thursday things turned a bit ugly during the India vs Bangladesh semi-final in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy. When Bangladesh was heading towards a strong total, an unsavoury incident took place on the cricket field which was captured on camera.
In the 40th over of the innings, one of the throws from Yuvraj Singh ended up as five penalty runs due to a small mistake by Dhoni. The former Indian skipper who is known for his smart moves tried to flick the ball on to the stumps but it made contact with a glove that was lying near the stumps and as a result, five penalty runs were awarded to the Bangladesh cricket team. Till then, just 5 runs were scored from that over by Ravichandran Ashwin but it suddenly took the tally to 10 runs. That left the Indian captain Virat Kohli frustrated who was seen shouting at Dhoni.

However, it appeared a momentary outburst as after the match Kohli was full of praises for Dhoni. He said the decision to make Kedar Jadhav bowl was a joint decision by both. “Yeah, when moves like this pay off, I won’t take the whole credit. Obviously, I asked MS, as well, and we both decided that Kedar is a good option at the moment, and he bowled really well. Credit to him,” Kohli said.
Kedar Jadhav also gave credit to MS Dhoni for his success. “From the time I have been in this Indian team, I have been spending a lot of time with MS Dhoni, trying to soak in all the knowledge he has. I share a bond with him and if I can read from his eyes as to what he wants me to bowl. I just try to bowl that delivery and it works,” Jadhav’s revelation made it clear as to what role the former India captain plays in fine tuning the strategy for Kohli.
