This Test series will also culminate India’s ‘grand home season’. Looking by the form Team India is undoubtedly the favourites to avenge the Test series defeat Down Under 0-2; when Virat Kohli took over the reigns of Test captaincy from MS Dhoni, in December, 2015.

Despite that, leaving no stones unturned, the Australian selectors have selected four spinners in the 16-man Test squad, in an expectation to improve their dismal Test record in the sub-continent. Aussies last won a Test series in India back in 2004 under Ricky Ponting.

Taking a look on the hosts, everything looks near perfect in all three departments. The batting is spearheaded by the in-form captain Virat Kohli, ably supported by Murali Vijay, Cheteswar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and others. The bowling responsibilities will be headed by R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. The pacers are also in good form.
