The Indian men’s hockey team would be facing one of their toughest tests in the tournament when they take on the hosts, Belgium, in their last four contest of the World Hockey League Semifinals (HWL) today.

Unlike the women’s team, the ninth ranked Indian team landed in Antwerp without any pressure of Olympic qualification. They also did not have to worry about finishing in the top three to enter the World League finals as they had qualified for the November-December event by virtue of being hosts.

The Sardar Singh-led team would be brimming with confidence ahead of their semi-final clash following their brilliant 3-2 win over Malaysia on Wednesday.

However, India’s defence would face fierce test against a formidable Belgium side, who have topped the group B while scoring 17 goals in the tournament.
