India Open 2017 Badminton Scores and Live Updates: PV Sindhu beats Saina Nehwal 21-16, 22-20

With a incredible and consistent performance, Sindhu defeated Saina 21-16, 22-20 in the crucial clash of the India Open World Super Series at the Siri Fort Sports Complex.

After a spectacular diplay of consistent performance, as Rio Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal reached the quater finals of the India Open World Super Series, the two ace shuttlers faced each other in the crucial clash at the Siri Fort Sports Complex, today. And with an incredible and consistent performance, Sindhu defeated Saina 21-16, 22-20. While after a nail-biting 40 minutes-long second round clash Sindhu defeated Japan’s Saena Kawakami to book her place in the last eight of the tournament, sixth-seed Saina outplayed Pompawee Chochuwong of Thailand 21-14, 21-11 within half an hour to storm into the quarter finals. This is the second crucial clash between Saina and Sindhu at international level after the last met at the dinal of the 2014 Syed Modi Grand Prix, where Sindhu got defeated by the London Olympics bronze-medallist.

06:25 pm: After consistent attacks with power smashes, Sindhu leads 11-9 at the break in the first game.

06:20 pm: In a spectacular toe-to-toe clash, score between Saina and Sindhu 9-9.

06:15 pm: Saina, in blue, serves first to Sindhu in canary yellow on Court 1, while Sindhu starts with a stunning smash, returned by Saina in her own style.

06:02 pm: The English duo defeats the Thai pair 16-21, 21-15, 21-15; next is the big clash between Sindhu and Saina.

05:50 pm: English duo Chris Adcock and Gabrielle Adcock win first game 16-21 against Bodin Isara and Savitree Amitrapai and even leads the second game 15-9.

05: 40 pm: The current match on Court one is the mixed doubles between Bodin Isara and Savitree Amitrapai from Thailand and Chris Adcock and Gabrielle Adcock of England.

05:20 pm: From other courts of the tournament, Kyung Eun Jung & Seung Chan Shin defeated Yoo Jung Chae & Ha Na Kim 18-21, 21-12, 21-15, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon & Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo defeated Vladimir Ivanov & Ivan Sozonov 21-18, 22-20, Naoko Fukuman & Kurumi Yonao defeated Maiken Fruergaard & Sara Thygesen 21-19, 20-22, 21-11.

05:03 pm: So far on the third day’s play at the India Open Super Series, Sung Ji Hyun defeats defending champion Ratchanok intanon 21-16, 22-30 and Junhui Li and Yuchen Liu defeated V Shem Gom and Wee Kiong Tan 21-15, 21-17.
