Cricket great Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun Tendulkar, has been named the Mumbai Under-19 squad, DNA reports. Tendulkar junior will be part of the Mumbai squad for the JY Lele All India Under-19 Invitational One Day Tournament to be held in Baroda, the report says. Sachin’s son has previously played for Mumbai Under-14 and Under-16 teams. Unlike Sachin, Arjun is a left-handed all-rounder, more known for his skills with the ball. Arjun had last made headlines when he had bowled a yorker to Jonny Bairstow, leaving the English cricketer in pain.
Arjun’s first delivery was a yorker, which ended up being a toe-crusher for Bairstow, according to a report by Daily Mail. Bairstow had to leave the practice session mid-way after facing only one delivery from the youngster. The 27-year old was provided with immediate first-aid, with his foot being placed in a compression unit.
The 17-year-old was also seen bowling in the nets for India ahead of Women’s World Cup final clash against England. The upcoming under 19 tournament will take place from September 16 to September 23.
