Arjun Tendulkar has one of the best batsmen in the history of cricket as his father but the young left-arm bowler is a fan of Aussie speed star Mitchell Starc and all-rounder Ben Stokes of England, reports the Indian Express. The report also said that recently Arjun played a cricket match in Australia’s Bradman Oval cricket ground and he was appreciated by Australian media for his choice words. According to the report, Arjun said to Australian Broadcasting Corporation, “I’m just so privileged to play on the ground named after the Bradman, it’s unbelievable.”
Unlike Sachin whom we all know as the greatest batsman ever, Arjun is concentrating towards becoming a fast bowler. “I just got stronger, grew taller and I loved bowling fast from my childhood. I thought I may as well be a quick bowler because there aren’t many in India,” said Arjun quoting The Indian Express. The report said that Sachin use to tell Arjun to “just play fearlessly, play for your team, be a team man and give everything you’ve got.”
Arjun Tendulkar had a good season last month when he picked up five wickets in an innings while playing for Mumbai against Railways in the Cooch Behar Trophy in Mumbai. Arjun picked up a five-for in the second innings which helped his team Mumbai beat Railways by an inning and 103 runs. He had earlier picked up a fifer against Madhya Pradesh just 20 days back and later picked up a four-for against Assam. While Mumbai drew their match against Madhya Pradesh, they won comfortably against Assam. According to The Indian Express report, Arjun scored 21 runs in Mumbai’s first innings. Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat and then posted a total of 389 runs, thanks to a double century by Yashasvi Bhupender Jaiswal. In reply, Railways were bowled out for a mere 150. A Vashishtha took eight wickets for 30 in that innings.
