India has beaten Australia by five wickets to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match ODI series. Not many ODI chases have been as clinical and as convincing as this one by Virat Kohli and co this year. Chasing 294, India got a fine start via fifties from Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma, that gave the home side the perfect start that it wanted to chase the grand total. Australia just did not have the depth or personnel to challenge India’s strong batting thereon. India did stutter, but it now has nine wins on the bounce – consistency that has earned them the tag of the best team in the world in this format. India now sits at the top of the ICC ODI world rankings list. Australia could have scored 350 runs which might have been a par score but as soon as Finch was sent back by none other than the mystery man- Kuldeep Yadav, the Aussies batting stumbled. From there on, India took the momentum and confidence of having to chase less into the second innings.

No recovery from there. Australia lost yet another game on the road. The Aussies have now not won even one game in their last 13 matches away.

From there on, India took the momentum and confidence of having to chase less in their second innings. No recovery from there. Australia lost yet another game on the road. Hardik Pandya was adjudged the Man of the Match for scoring 78 runs in 72 balls. He hit 5 fours and 4 sixes to help India win.
This was yet another complete performance by Indian side on a very batting-friendly pitch. Action now shifts to Bangalore where Australia would eye pride while India would look to extend their domination.
