Motherhood’s not all wonderful; there is mourning as well: Kalki Koechlin
'Belly of the Beast' is a thought-provoking play written by Kalki Koechlin and Sheena Khalid, and directed by Khalid, that challenges conventional narratives around motherhood. Through a blend of shadow puppetry, live music, movement, and mythic imagery, the play explores the less-discussed realities of rage, grief, exhaustion, and the unsettling sense of becoming someone entirely new.
