US court rules billionaire must return $25M painting stolen from Jewish dealer by Nazis
A New York court has ordered the return of a painting, Seated Man With a Cane by Amedeo Modigliani, to the family of its rightful Jewish owner, Oscar Stettiner. The painting was looted by the Nazis during World War II and sold by a man appointed by the Nazi authorities. After an 11-year legal battle, the court ruled in favor of Stettiner's grandson and the company Mond.
