NPPA approves up to 50% price hike for critical medicines and vaccines
NPPA relaxed price control rules for essential cancer drugs and vaccines, citing supply chain disruptions and raw material price hikes. It allowed a one-time 50% increase in ceiling prices for two cancer drugs and 50% increase for anti-tetanus immunoglobulin injections. The regulator also addressed Serum Institute of India's concerns over price fixing methodology for certain vaccines.
