Pulse imports drop sharply in FY26 on robust crop, stocks
India's pulse imports have decreased by 23% in volume and 38% in value due to ample carry-forward stocks and strong domestic crop prospects. The decline in global prices has also played a role. However, there has been an increase in urad imports and a decrease in yellow peas. India imports 18%-20% of its annual pulse consumption and has experienced a drop in imports.
