Mandi prices of pulses rule below MSP on sluggish demand
The government's price support scheme for pulses has not been effective as market prices are lower than the minimum support price. Chana, tur, masur, moong, and urad prices are 4% to 14% below the MSP. Despite surplus stocks, demand for pulses is slow until the monsoon season. States are urged to source from the government's buffer instead of the open market.
