Commercial cylinder price up Rs 195, OMC losses seen at Rs 40,484 crore
The LPG crisis in India worsened on April 1 with a significant price hike of ₹195.50 per 19-kg cylinder due to a 44% rise in the Saudi Contract Price. This is a result of the disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, which has caused a shortage in global LPG supplies and led to a sharp increase in prices.
