Biogas cushions rural Gujarat from global energy shocks
A farmer in Gujarat, Dilipsinh Parmar, is not affected by the West Asia crisis due to his family's use of biogas for cooking. This transition was supported by the National Dairy Development Board, with 368 farmers installing biogas plants in 2019. With 6,600 operational units in the state and 80,000 in India, this shift saves money and provides a reliable source of cooking fuel.
