‘India maintains some of world’s lowest household LPG prices,’ says Petroleum Ministry
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas justifies the rise in domestic cooking-gas prices, stating that Indian households still have some of the lowest rates globally. They credit the price modulation and PMUY subsidy, with beneficiaries paying only Rs 642 for a 14.2 kg cylinder. The government has also absorbed a significant portion of international costs and ensured steady supplies.
