Rajinikanth starrer Kabali is all set to release in theatres around you, but this movie, if you were thinking about watching it in the comfort and luxury of 5-star hotels, is unlikely to happen. Why? Because Kabali ban has been imposed at virtually the last hour by the authorities. This is a setback for Kabali as these hotels could have been a very big sources of revenue and this move will perhaps hit box office collections.

Among the hotels involved are JW Marriott, Lalit Ashok, Royal Orchid and Crowne Plaza. Kabali tickets were priced between Rs 1,300 to 1,500. Despite this high rate the tickets were lapped up fast.
Bengaluru urban Deputy Commissioner V Shankar took the decision to refuse permission on the basis of violation of rules. The move comes after a distributor made an application to allow people to watch the latest Rajinikanth movie in hotels. 
The rule is an old one and is referred to as the Karnataka Cinema (Regulation) Act and Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Rules. This rule specifically allows movies to be screened only in theatres or multiplexes and not hotels, officials revealed. -
The hotels have said that the money they have collected from selling Kabali tickets will be refubnded to the people concerned as soon as possible.
