India cricket team captain Virat Kohli and his predecessor MS Dhoni demanded a pay hike for the team. And, it was accepted by the Committee of Administrators (CoA). Kohli, along with Dhoni and Ravi Shastri met COA chief Vinod Rai, Diana Edulji and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) CEO Rahul Johri in Delhi on November 30. However, on the proposed pay hike, the COA chief as of now has not revealed the remuneration plan but said that both Kohli and Dhoni were in agreement with the structure which is being worked out. The BCCI currently pays Rs 2 crore to Grade A players, Rs 1 crore to Grade B players and Rs 50 lakh to Grade C players. But in case the team's salary rises, Kohli and companies' remuneration could be hiked to Rs.12 crore per annum! Let's take a look at the current sum that the Indian cricket players secure (PTI)
As per the current contracts, top Indian players, including Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravichandran Ashwin, are paid Rs 2 crore per year, while the Grade B players get Rs 1crore, and Grade C, Rs 50 lakh a year, reported TOI. Cricketers with the Grade A contracts could be paid around Rs 12 crore a year, with the captain's salary even higher! (PTI)
