Hyundai Active i20 Crossover: All you wanted to know in 6 points

By: Car Dekho June 12 , 2015 1:19 pm
  1. Hyundai Active i20

Hyundai has jumped into the new crossover segment by leveraging its already successful and credible i20 name. The compact SUV segment is surging with growing popularity of Renault Duster and Ford Ecosport. The starting price range for Hyundai Active i20 is Rs.6.4 lakh whereas the most expensive model for the compact crossover is priced at Rs.8.9 lakh. Here are 6 points that make it a standout vehicle. (CarDekho)

  2. Hyundai Active i20

Hyundai Active i20 is carved out of Elite i20 hatchback, the second generation model. Active i20 competes against the likes of Etios Cross, Cross Polo and Fiat Avventura. Among the four, the popular opinion has made Avventura the crowd favourite when it comes to looks of a pure crossover although, Hyundai i20 comes in close at second. (CarDekho)

  3. Hyundai Active i20

Avventura has kept a lot of the SUV features which does give it an edge of the three but Hyundai i20 Active seems to have the overall package that delivers high value for money as far as features and equipment are concerned. (CarDekho)

  4. Hyundai Active i20

Hyundai Active i20 is definitely one of the best compact crossovers in the market as far as looks is concerned with the South Korean automaker keeping intact the elegance of the i20 hatchback and adding a bit of sportier feel to it. The body colored handles, LED like headlamps in the front and large alloy wheels do standout. The cabin is quite spacious and offers an array of features to work with including USB ports, AUX-in and a 2-DIN music system, push engine start/stop, 60:40 rear foldable seats, etc. (CarDekho)

  5. Hyundai Active i20

Under the hood, Hyundai Active i20 remains strong offering both petrol and diesel motors with a 1.2 liter engine for the former producing 81.8bhp and 114Nm of max torque while the latter equipped with 1.4 litre CRDi engine generating power of 88.73bhp at 4000rpm whereas torque carved away is 220Nm at 1500Nm to 2750Nm. (CarDekho)

  6. Hyundai Active i20

In terms of safety there are plenty of features to depend on including driver airbag, central locking, smart pedal, engine immobilizer, etc. As you go for higher end trims, you will find that more features can be accessed. (CarDekho)

  7. Hyundai Active i20

Although, the compact crossover has not reached its full potential, Hyundai Active i20 has managed to deliver immediate impact in terms of sales with 12,425 units sold along with Elite i20 in April 2015 and contributed a large chunk of sales of 52,315 units in May 2015. This clearly means Hyundai has seen a phenomenal growth after the launch of i20 hatchback and its elder sibling i20 Active crossover. (CarDekho)
