Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi, is a popular Hindu festival celebrated in honour of the elephant-headed God, Ganesha. It falls on the fourth day of the Hindu month Bhadrapada, usually in August or September. Following the traditional customs, the deity is welcomed in the homes with full fervor and enthusiasm among the people. As per the beliefs and customs followed by people, the idols will be immersed on the second, fifth and last day of festival.
