<b>Maggi noodles banned in 3 more states – Uttarakhand, Gujarat and J and K</b></br> After Delhi, three more states– Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand–today banned the sale of Maggi noodles, as the popular instant snack came under mounting scrutiny over food safety concerns. The Uttarakhand government banned the sale of Nestle's instant noodles for three months while in Gujarat the ban will be effective for one month after some samples of the food had failed lab tests, officials said in Dehradun and Gandhinagar. In Jammu and Kashmir, the state government banned the sale for one month till the receipt of reports over the fitness of the fast food for human consumption. The three states also ordered the noodle manufacturers Nestle India to immediately withdraw the stocks. (04/06/2015)

<br>Restricted entry for non-Hindus in Somnath temple wrong: Paswan</br> Union Minister Ramvilas Paswan today criticised the decision taken by authorities at the Somnath temple in Gujarat to restrict entry of non-Hindus inside, sans permission, and stated that the Central government has never supported any discrimination on the basis of religion. "This is wrong…and should not to be done because it is a public place and no discrimination can be allowed in the name of religion or caste," said Paswan in reply to a query on the recent restriction of entry of Non-Hindus in Somnath temple. Authorities at Somnath, the famous pilgrimage of Lord Shiva in Veraval taluka at Gir-Somanth district in Gujarat have decided that non-Hindus can only enter in the temple after getting permission from the management. "Revanth Reddy (TDP MLA who was arrested) got entangled by giving an offer of Rs five crore to defeat our party (TRS) MLCs (candidates in council elections). This is going to bring a big change in politics in this state. Because, Chandrababu Naidu is the key person in this. Revanth Reddy was arrested on Sunday last for allegedly trying to give a bribe to nominated MLA in the Telangana Legislative Council polls held this week. A memorandum containing the demand would be submitted to the Prime Minister by the West Bengal unit of the RSS, Jishnu Basu, a senior functionary of the organisation said. "We not only want the Prime Minister to raise the issue of safety and security of Hindu minorities with the Bangladesh government, but also ensure that Hindus are not forced to flee that country," Basu said. The two pilots ejected themselves out of the aircraft before it crashed, an official said, adding one of the injured pilots has been identified as Sachin. The advanced jet trainer aircraft crashed after flying for about 50 km from the Kalaikunda Air Base on a routine sortie, Air Force officials said. (PTI) (03/06/2015)
