<br>Setback for Narendra Modi:</br> Prashant Kishor, a core member of Narendra Modi's election campaign team, is likely to work for the Prime Minister's political rival and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during the crucial state assembly polls later this year. A public health expert, Kishor had left his job with the United Nations in 2011 and joined a team of young professionals who worked on the Modi campaign for nearly three years. Many have credited him with being the architect of 'chai per charcha' and 3D hologram campaign which contributed significantly to Modi's election victory. (PTI) (20/05/2015) <br>Nagpur records hottest day of season at 47 deg:</br> Nagpur, Maharashtra's second capital, today recorded the highest temperature of the season so far as the mercury touched 47 degree Celsius. The Vidarbha region of the state is experiencing an intense heat wave for the last couple of days. Apart from Nagpur, Akola registered a maximum temperature of 46.2 degree Celsius and Amravati 45.4 degree Celsius. The Regional Meteorological Centre here said the heat wave will continue for the next few days, even for a week. The temperatures in the region will settle in the range of 45 to 47 degree Celsius. In the last ten years, 47-plus degree Celsius temperature was recorded in the city in 2005 (47.6), 2009 (47.9), 2010 (47.9) and 2013 (47.9). (PTI) (20/05/2015) <br>Khap panchayat asks couple to pay Rs 50,000 inter-caste marriage 'tax':</br> A young couple have been allegedly ordered by a khap panchayat in Bihar's Katihar district to pay Rs 50,000 as 'tax' for their inter-caste marriage and they have even been threatened if they failed to do so. Chhotu Yadav of Gogra village under Azamnagar police station, around 275 km from Patna, had fallen in love with Soni Kumai of neighbouring Rohia village who belongs to another caste. In November last year, they got married. Both the families had accepted the marriage but trouble began when the couple returned to Gogra recently. Yadav today said a panchayat meeting was held a month ago allegedly on the orders of three musclemen in the village and a diktat was issued that the couple pay Rs 50,000 fine as the marriage was an inter-caste one. The couple is living in fear, claimed his father Puran Yadav. (Reuters) (20/05/2015) <br>Dust storm kills 17:</br> The death toll due to the dust storm in Rajasthan has risen to 17 and over 60 persons have been injured in related incidents till last evening. The severe storm which generated over Bikaner region and advanced to Nagaur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Sawaimadhopur and nearby region also uprooted many trees and damaged several houses yesterday. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the affected families. The worst affected was Bharatpur where five persons were killed and over 50 injured. More than 50 houses also got damaged due to the strong winds in villages of the district, police said.(PTI) (20/05/2015) -

<br>Modi allowing BJP leaders to indulge in polarisation: Ramesh</br> Congress leader and former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh today accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of playing a "double game" by allowing his party leaders to indulge in polarisation while he himself spoke the language of governance. "Modi is playing a dangerous double game…he wants to appear as champion of good governance, but he will allow others to do the communal batting for him," the Congress leader alleged. "The strategy of Modi is very clear. Modi speaks the language of governance, but he has enough people who speak the language of polarisation. They have adopted language of polarisation (on his behalf)," Ramesh charged. (PTI) (20/05/2015) <br>Act against Robert Vadra, challenges Congress:</br> Congress today sought to treat the land deals of Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra as a matter related to an "individual" and said if the governments of Haryana and Rajasthan have any documents to show any wrongdoing by him, they can take legal action against him. "Look, we do not involve the individuals. We, as Congressmen, did not target any individual. If anything came to our knowledge (with regard to corruption) or any other thing, we did not target those people with their relations," Congress spokesman Raj Babbar told reporters here when asked about Vadra's land deals. "The governments in Haryana and Rajasthan have all the documents and files with regard to him. It is their (BJP) government and they have all the files. If they feel that such things (wrongdoings) have happened, they can register or reopen cases, they can move High Court, Supreme Court.," he said. In a letter to Kejriwal, Jung also told him that all the appointments made by the AAP government without his approval in the last four days were not valid, insisting that he was the sole authority in matters of ordering transfer and posting of bureaucrats.
