As part of Suresh Prabhu-led Indian Railways bid to revamp and modernise infrastructure, many railway stations are all set to undergo massive redevelopment work over the coming years. The idea is to transform these railway stations into world-class transit hubs with 'airport-like' features for end-to-end passenger comfort. One such railway station that is being redeveloped is Madhya Pradesh's Habibganj.
Indian Railways has identified 400 stations for redevelopment, but Habibganj will be the first to offer the new, modern and 'luxurious' experience. We take a look at what the Habibganj railway station will look like: (Image by Bansal Pathways)The new-look railway station will have a glass dome-like structure that will serve as the entrance to the station. Apart from 'holding areas' for passengers at every platform, Railways is also going to make an exit underpass for passengers de-boarding trains. This will help ease congestion on platforms. (Image by Bansal Pathways)

Indian Railways has signed a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) agreement for the ambitious Rs 450 crore redevelopment and modernization project of Habibganj Railway Station. This agreement has been signed between Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC) and the Bansal Group.
The total estimated cost of station redevelopment is Rs 100 crore, whereas the estimated cost of commercial development is approximately, Rs 350 crore. (Image by Bansal Pathways)
