   Skoda Rapid is one of the most popular compact sedans in India and buyers in the country aspiring to own one in the immediate future, may find themselves in a great position. Skoda India has provided some attractive offers on the "Ambition" trims of the vehicle with manual transmission for both diesel and petrol variant with validity of the scheme remaining till 28th February, 2015.
   These offers include four years of periodic maintenance scheme, four years of roadside assistance, four years of low interest rate at 7.99 percent and four years of warranty. The four years of warranty period comprises of 2 years of manufacturing and 2 years of extended warranty.
   The buyers can avail these offers at a nominal price of INR 8000. Skoda India is also offering Volkswagen financial services for manual transmission variants and petrol automatic variant at 7.99 percent for varying periods of 3, 4 or 5 years depending upon the choice of the customer. This is of course, in addition to the offers available on Ambition Trim.

   Skoda Rapid has received mild facelift recently where most noteworthy addition was the new VW's diesel engine of 1.5 litre capacity. The displacement for the engine of the car is 1498cc whereas the power churned out by the vehicle is 105PS at 4400Nm. Torque stands at 250Nm at 1500 to 2500rpm. The petrol model on the other hand was carried forward in the facelift employing the same 1.6 liter MPI engine that produces the same ouput of 105PS while delivering torque throughput of 153Nm. Skoda Rapid has a 7 speed gearbox system and uses four cylinder with 4-valves each. The sedan has a weight of 1170Kgs while it measures in length of 4386mm, width of 1699mm and height of 1466mm. Ground clearance for the car is 168mm whereas the wheel base is 2552mm. The sedan looks exquisite from every angle and is available in various colors including Flash red, Candy white, Deep black pearl, Brilliant silver and Cappuccino beige.

   Skoda Rapid is an attractive looking vehicle with a sleek and elegant design that has an aggressive shaped front fascia. The sides of the car is also well structured and arranged with well positioned outer rear mirrors, B-Pillars, door handles, etc. The cabin looks stunning and has large boot space providing comfortable seats. The compartment space is 460 litres to be exact which should be enough for any 5 seater car. The seats can be reclined while the automatic air conditioning provides a soothing ambience for long journeys. Other facilities inside the interior includes the modern central console system and assisting tools like foldable roof handles, coat hooks, cup and bottle holders, etc.

   In the security section, Skoda Rapid has Anti-lock braking system along with parking sensors at the rear. Other features offered include central locking, driver airbag, passenger airbag, door ajar warning, crash sensor, power door locks, child safety locks, side impact beams, front impact beams, etc.

   Skoda Rapid is not bad in terms of fuel economy offering 15kmpl mileage in manual variant and 14.3kmpl mileage in 6-speed automatic alternative. As far as performance goes, Skoda Rapid hits the 100kmph mark in 10 seconds whereas the top speed for the sedan is 175kmph, which is very quick.
