CBSE 12th result 2016: Government schools have fared better than private schools in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 examinations, the results of which were declared on Saturday. The central government-run Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) school students have scored a pass percentage of 95.43 per cent, much above the national average of 83.05 while the pupils of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV), which are established in rural areas, have done even better with with a pass percentage of 96.73. Significantly, the successful students from Super 30 academy are wards of a marginal farmer, daily wager and small time teachers. While Bipin Kumar's mother Kumari Chanchala is a teacher in a small private school far away in Palamu (Daltonganj), his father Vijay Kumar Gupta is unemployed and the family is barely able to make both ends meet. “After class 10, I felt like discontinuing my studies, as my family just could not afford further education. Thinking of IIT was just out of question,” the boy recalled. Ajit Kumar, whose father Naresh Choudhary sells vegetables in Patna’s outskirts, was a happy boy. “Our efforts have been rewarded."
