Fitoor box office collections during opening weekend have risen to Rs 14.11 crore (net) while the total (gross approx) has been logged at Rs 20.16 crore. With the foreign take added, the overall total is Rs 23.08 crore. This Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor starrer is continuing to suffer from lack of crowds at theaters despite the fact that it is a love story and released ahead of the Valentine's Day weekend and has a top star cast, which should have ideally led to brisk business being transacted at least on the first 3 days since release. Fitoor box office collections: But the film, right from the start, has not really been helped by the 'season of love' as is clear from the day by day earnings figures. Fitoor managed to collect Rs 3.61 crore on day 1, Rs 4.45 cr on day 2 and to round off the opening weekend, collected another Rs 5.96 crore on day 3 – these figures are very far indeed from breaking into the double-digit earnings category that would have added the respectability factor to the film. Indeed, this is a huge setback for the filmmakers who would be eyeing losses resembling those logged by the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Bombay Velvet – the budget for Fitoor has been reported at Rs 70 crore. Fitoor box office collections: Fitoor's failure to set the box office rests a lot on the film being robbed of much of its powers of attraction after it received diametrically opposite reactions in reviews – from standout to poor. But as the adage goes, there is no smoke without a fire, the Katrina Kaif-Aditya Roy Kapoor love story is not as 'hot' as the filmmakers' had hyped it up to. And this means it did not get any word of mouth boost as those who did actually venture into the theaters had very few, if any, good things to say about it.(Bollywood Hungama)

Fitoor box office collections: Also, the film was not surrounded by any controversy that would have put it at the front and centre of national attention, but this factor does not always work and can have negative repercussions too – for instance, Sunny Leone’s Mastizaade was not helped by the publicity immediately ahead of the release of the film and Shahrukh Khan’s Dilwale was greeted by many protests, which limited its intake at the B.O. The fact that Fitoor has a restricted run in under 1,500 screens is also a big limiting factor. (Bollywood Hungama)

Fitoor movie, which stars the stunning Katrina Kaif and the hunky Aditya Roy Kapur, was one of the most anticipated movies in Bollywood. Kaif has a legion of fans and she has been in the news for various reasons, especially her personal life, and all of this should have led to huge crowds at theaters. And these facts had driven predictions about the movie sky high, but the formula, did not fire at all. Fitoor is based on a classic novel, the magnum opus ‘Great Expectations’ by Charles Dickens. From forbidden love, to betrayal and class struggle, the novel has been wowing the world for over a 100 years. Sadly, its greatness has not rubbed off onto the Bollywood film. (Bollywood Hungama)
